Andy was born and raised in West Virginia, and grew up in the outdoors. Following a family trip to the Grand Canyon, Andy knew that he wanted to spend as much time as possible outdoors. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Andy took to guiding following his time in the Army as a way to best combine his passions of outdoor pursuits and teaching others. Andy currently lives in Connecticut with his wife and dog, spending time sampling the best that New England has to offer while dreaming of bigger mountains. He has graduated the AMGA Alpine Skills and Single Pitch Instructor courses. He holds WFR, CPR, and LNT Trainer certifications.
