Looking for Volunteers to learn how to rock climb! With tropical storm Henri coming through today and tomorrow we had to shift our volunteer day to this Friday.

Anybody want to try some outdoor rock climbing in the Gunks on Friday, 8/27/21? Eastern Mountain Sports Climbing School is offering a free* climbing day on Friday, August 27th from 8:30am to about 3:30pm.

We are looking for people age 16 and up, to participate in a day of rock climbing in the Gunks, free of charge*. This is for the second day of the American Mountain Guides Association Single Pitch Instructor assessment. Guide candidates will be evaluated on day one on their technical skills. Day two is designed to show abilities in group management in a teaching setting. The day will consist of beginner to low intermediate climbing and rappelling with guide candidates under the supervision of an AMGA certified Rock Instructor.

Little to no climbing experience is preferred for volunteers.

*Day passes are not included to the Mohonk Preserve or Peter's Kill climbing area. They are required and are the responsibility of each participant.
