fall kayakCome explore the Blackstone River on one of our favorite Fall Foliage
Paddle Tours. Experience the vibrant colors of the changing of the
season against the mirror like calm water as we paddle north into the
Historic Lonsdale Marsh. This is one of those must-do trips that
rewards you with all the sights, sounds and smells fall has to offer.
Known as “The Hardest Working River in New England” the Blackstone
River has been used throughout the industrial revolution to generate
power and transport goods for many generations. In fact, it is often
referred to as the “Birthplace of the American Revolution” due to its
numerous mills, river locks, and quaint mill towns that sprung up along
its banks. As we paddle along this winding river we will share in the
importance of this cultural and historical natural resource as we
enjoy its current recreational opportunities. The plan is to paddle
north into the marsh between Cumberland and Lincoln and experience the
beauty of its coves and islands. The vibrant red and orange hues of
fall surround us as we glide through its gentile waters. As we paddle
around the marsh and explore all it has to offer you will soon
understand why this is one of those sought after “Fall Foliage

Directions to Meeting Location

Central Falls Landing- From Route 146, turn onto Route 123 east to Valley Falls, take right onto Broad Street, right onto Madeira Avenue and a right into the parking lot.

Included/Not Included

Paddlers will be outfitted with all paddling equipment. Equipment provided includes appropriate kayak, paddle, and PFD. Paddlers will be expected to arrive dressed appropriately for the weather and provide their own water and snacks for the day. See gear list for complete list of items you will be responsible for bringing. In addition to items on the list paddlers will need hat and gloves. Footwear can be provided for you.

Cancellation Policy

Payment is due in full at time of reservation to secure your reservation. Events run rain or shine. Eastern Mountain Sports Schools reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events for low participation, weather or safety concerns at any time. We will try to give as much advance notice as possible, but may not always be able to give much advance warning, especially for weather cancellations. Cancellations or schedule changes 14 days or more prior to the event start date will be fully refunded or credited with no penalty. Within 14 days of the start date courses cannot be refunded, but changes to reservations may be granted up until 7 days of the start date. Reservation changes of any kind within 7 days of the event start date will not be refunded and you will not be allowed to carry over deposits to future events. Courses/tours are open to those 16 years and older.  Families with younger children, please reach out for a private tour. For participants 16 or 17 years old, a parent must sign a waiver form prior to paddling. If you have any questions please call 845-668-2030.
